The First United Methodist Church of Charlotte, NC's local church history was digitized for an earlier project. The resulting full text of the history was sent through Wordle, which creates word images based upon the number of times particular words are used in the text (more frequently used words appear larger). The resulting image suggests something about the important role of women in the church.
The Religion in North Carolina Digital Collection seeks to bring together, preserve, and provide access to primary materials of religious bodies in North Carolina.

Project publicity
Early project publicity included this article which first appeared on the Duke Divinity School's website and then in a slightly different form in the Fall 2010 issue of Divinity Magazine. A brief article also appeared in August 26th Herald-Sun in Durham.
